For the last five years, I have also been doing pottery at my home studio, 'Maati Maanush' in Noida. When I work with clay, I find myself completely soaked in it, almost becoming one with it. People at home often end up calling me "Maati Maanush," giving my studio its name. Before I started pottery, I had been a painter for a long time - that is why the colors entice me so much. My primary area of interest is creating my glazes, specifically crystalline glazes, which lend my work a certain visual richness. The form of the pot serves only as a blank canvas for the glaze to act upon, giving it texture and color, much like paint on a canvas. In this way, working on my clay and glazes helps me spend more time with each individual pot and create a very unique bond with them.
